Quince Jam with Ginger and Cardamom
The bitter quinces give a cottonmouth when consumed in their natural state, but they turn into the most delicate fruits if cooked thermally. Riped quince has a taste that lies between apples and pears, but when ennobled with spices such as ginger and cardamom, it becomes unexpectedly delicious. Quinces not only change their taste and consistency, but when put in pots they become dark gold or rust like the leaves of the trees at the end of October.
The Quince Jam with Ginger and Cardamom can be eaten on pancakes, on toast, as a filling for croissants and other cakes, but also on plates with precious cheese, such as Latin Manchego cheese. It is prepared simply, from ripe fruits, cooked on low heat and continuously mingled, to which we add a little sugar, cardamom and ginger, a mix of spices that match perfectly with the quince.
We do not use any preservatives, food additives or gelatine in the Delirs kitchen. Even if the whole process is natural, due to sterilization in the steam and water bath, Delirs Quince Jam with Ginger and Cardamom lasts over 2 years in the pantry, in case you forget about it. Otherwise, you will surely find a use of it for yourself or your loved ones' delight. Ask for the precious Quince Jam at your place!
